Favorite Friends PetSitters Laguna Niguel is a family owned and operated pet sitting business. We started in January 2001 in Laguna Niguel, California and cover areas of Laguna Hills, South and West Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, South Laguna Beach, and Ladera Ranch.
Favorite Friends PetSitters was created by Shirley Somerville.
About Shirley:
Shirley was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Laguna Niguel in 1985. As soon as Shirley was able to talk, she began begging her parents for a puppy or kitten until her Dad finally bought her a kitten and a dachshund. She has had a cat, a dog or both from that time on and a variety of other pets such as chickens, ducks, turtles, birds and mice (a gift left behind by her son when he went to college).
Shirley always volunteered to care for her friends' and neighbors' pets while they were away, and that's how she decided to become a professional pet sitter. Her friends Brad and Linda purchased Animal Crackers Pet Shop and Grooming in Laguna Beach and began recommending her to customers requesting a loving and dependable pet sitter.

About Jennifer Nichols:
Since 2004, Jennifer has been doing pet sitting for Favorite Friends and enjoys a wonderful relationship with Shirley and Bill. Jennifer is also an amazingly talented artist. Jennifer met Shirley while looking for a pet sitter for her cats after moving here. It wasn’t long after that her desire to care for animals was renewed. Jennifer lives in Laguna Niguel with her husband and cats.
About Bill:
Bill was born near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bill always had several pets as a child including dogs, cats, ducks and even goats. At the age of 18, he moved to Arizona and worked with animals on a ranch near Bisbee. He later moved to Philadelphia and was an officer of the Philadelphia Police Department for 17 years.
Bill and Shirley moved to Laguna Niguel, CA in 1985 where Bill worked for a security company, the U.S. Government and finally as the Operations Manager for a Distribution Center for Automotive Products from which he retired in 2005. Bill had always helped with the petsitting on evenings, weekends and holidays, but joined Shirley full-time in 2005 and has been enjoying meeting all the new pets and owners, as well.
About Jonathan:
Jonathan is Bill and Shirley's son. He has now expanded the service area of Favorite Friends by covering Rancho Santa Margarita, South and West Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, and Coto de Caza.
